During a recent interview with Diverse Mentality, legendary mixtape DJ Whoo Kid shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from his days touring overseas with Eminem. Capitalizing on the immense global mystique surrounding the Detroit rapper, Whoo Kid revealed how he successfully ran a side hustle in Japan by charging clubs $10,000 for fake Eminem appearances.
Here is how the brilliant, albeit deceptive, scheme worked:
The Setup

While opening for Eminem on a Japanese tour, Whoo Kid realized that the international frenzy for Slim Shady could be monetized. To pull off the stunt, he enlisted Parshall, Eminem’s official tour stunt double, who bore a striking resemblance to the rap icon.
Whoo Kid approached him with the plan, saying: > “Yo, Parshall, I’m gonna give you $5. I just need you to just stand there and don’t move.”
Making It Look Real
To ensure the illusion was foolproof, Whoo Kid hired legitimate, intimidating security guards to flank the stunt double. Because Eminem was known to be notoriously guarded at the height of his fame, the clubgoers never suspected a thing.
“Everybody knows you can’t touch Eminem. You can’t go near Eminem,” Whoo Kid explained. Since nobody was allowed to get close enough to inspect him, Parshall’s physical resemblance was more than enough to sell the lie.
The Payoff
The setup worked flawlessly. The club promoters gladly handed over the cash, and the local fans were completely starstruck.
“So I would get $10k, I give everybody little dibs and all these Japanese girls crying,” Whoo Kid laughed, noting that the fans were crying tears of joy over a body double while he pocketed the promoter’s money.
The story is just one of many wild, chaotic tales from the golden era of Eminem and G-Unit’s massive world tours!
