Conway the Machine is again letting his respect for Drake be known by putting his own spin on “Make Them Pay,” a track off Iceman, currently the No. 1 album in the country.

Monday night (June 1), the Griselda co-founder let fans hear how he sounds on the track, which quickly made headlines in its original form thanks to some choice lyrics from the 6 god aimed at DJ Khaled.

“I heard you paint houses,” Conway remarks at the top of his take on the track, seen in studio footage below.

From there, he recalls being stopped in traffic by autograph-seeking fans, plus a revelatory summer he spent in Greece.

“If it wasn’t for Griselda, what would I be? / Or maybe, what would Griselda be if it wasn’t for me?” he raps at one point.

A dinner with Jay-Z also gets a mention from Conway, as does “a procedure that I heard about that could fix my face with the acupuncture needles.”

As of this writing, Drake hasn’t yet publicly acknowledged this interpretation of what has proven to be a key Iceman track. This is not, however, the first time Conway has taken a liking to something from his catalog. Previously, he freestyled over “Do Not Disturb,” a song off Drake’s 2017 project More Life.

With Iceman, released in tandem with Maid of Honour and Habibti in May, Drake entered new territory on the charts, all while helping other artists—including Molly Santana and Popcaan—score their first-ever Hot 100 appearances.
