18 years ago, Ye and Lil Wayne took the stage at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey for Hot 97 Summer Jam 2008, one of the biggest annual hip hop events of the year 
The festival that year featured T-Pain, Rick Ross, Alicia Keys, Sheek Louch, Styles P, Public Enemy, and more. Lil Wayne was the headliner that night, fresh off the release of ‘Tha Carter III’ which had dropped just two days earlier on May 29, 2008. Ye joined the stage alongside Swizz Beatz for a live beat battle segment.
Earlier in the evening Ye was spotted in a white tee, gold chains, grey denim and his Nike Air Yeezy 1 prototypes in the salmon colorway, carrying a black Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Monogram briefcase. By the time he hit the stage he had switched into a different fit wearing black metallic jacket.
